Over the past several decades our team here at ICI Paints (you'd probably know us better as Glidden Paints) has gradually developed a variety of outstanding characterization skills in support of our past and current businesses. The Polymer and Materials Sciences team is comprised of some dozen scientists and staff; we're located in Strongsville, Ohio, about 20 miles southwest of Cleveland.
With recent changes in our business strategy, we've decided to make our exceptional skill base available to a wider segment of the chemical industry. Our motivation is simple: we'd like to share our experience, start new relationships, and strengthen our capabilities in materials science. Over the several years we've made a great beginning - we have some 25 partners already - and we hope to continue to make new friends and strengthen ourselves technically.
Our emphasis at SRC is and continues to be on delivering results. Simply put, we help people understand their materials. We can help resolve problems and provide support for subjects ranging from process chemistry and product composition to supporting claims resolution. We have a broad array of capabilities and emphasize three core competency areas.
Materials Characterization
- Rheology, Thermal Analysis, Microscopy, GPC/SEC
- Analytical Services (Spectroscopy, Chromatography, Competitive Product Analysis)
Polymer Processing and Resin Pilot Plant Services
- Automated Batch Processes, including powder resin mfg.
Information Technology
- Lit. Search, Strategic Background, Market Analysis, Competitive Business Analysis
